I called to bring it in but it’s gonna be $150 just to diagnose and then they will apply that to the total cost of the repair.Mine does the same, if you don't have the fob near your car it will be locked. Try to open trunk when keys aren't around car it will be locked. I think it is a convenience feature. I was confused at first too. In order for the tailgate dash button to work, first unlock all doors with the botton on the driver's door.The 3 beeps indicate that the doors are locked.
